Two Abandoned Houses

I recently moved to Richmond, RI.  Whilst getting familiar with my new surroundings I had the fortune of finding two abandoned houses.  One was via Bing maps, and the other was by pure chance.

House #1 in the set appeared to be from the early 1900s, I personally believe it was the site of an earlier house that was probably burned down and rebuilt.  As some of you know, I collect old bottles, and those I found dated from ca. 1900 to the 70s.  I cursed my phobia of poison ivy, which prevented me from checking out what's left of the basement.  I didn't go in the house on the first visit (which the photos are from), but did on the second.  I discovered only part of the house had a cellar, so I could walk on what's left of the floor without the fear of falling through.

House #2 was much more exciting.  I started out looking for a cellar hole, and instead found a random road in the woods.  It had power lines on it, so I figured it must lead somewhere.  It was a long road, but after half a mile I discovered an abandoned farm!  There were a few Posted signs of a recent nature, so I didn't enter the two standing buildings.  They seemed fairly uninteresting anyway, the barn being full of nothing but lumber.  There were about 15-20 old cars and trucks on the property, in roughly three locations.  The house itself had nearly returned to the elements.  I was most delighted to find old bottles scattered around an apple tree.  Some of the nicer ones had broke from frost, but I found an old soda bottle from around 1910 marked "E.F. Tierney Phenix, RI"  I also hopped through a window in the house to retrieve a fruit jar and kerosene bottle.
On my second trip to this house I brought my camera, and explored the whole area.  I found a very creepy pond in the middle of a dense stand of pines.  It was lined with stones and had rather steep sides.  It was really deep, and reminded me of a quarry.  In another corner of the property I found a bunch of cars and tons of metal.  Perhaps the owner was a scrap dealer?

Anyway, enough talking, here are the pictures you want to see:

Sweet places!  Great photos.  Curious about the house where all the cars were found, wondering if it's the same farmhouse that was posted here a while back that I have yet to check out, but know where it is.
I hide in the shadows and babble about old things.  I appear to most new members of IB.  I might beat you with my cane.
